Valentine Baby Exploration Day

To celebrate this loving occasion, we have decided to organize a Valentine Day Out for the babies with their lovely mommy's and daddy's

We have lined up a baby exploration program using Glenn Doman 5 senses pathway to the brain - Taste, Smell, Hear, See, Touch. Babies brain will be able to register what they learn in their brain through this 5 senses.

We have prepare 6 types of different fruits. Each fruit are prepared in 5 different manner - fruit puree (for taste and smell), whole fruit (for touch and see), picture of the fruit (for see), word of the fruit (for reading). Hearing is done throughout the process as we will be reading out-loud the fruit word.

Method  (if we take banana)
First, we start off by letting baby taste the fruit (where we put a dab of banana puree on the baby tongue), wait a for a sec and then say out-loud 'banana'. Then we let the baby smell the fruit (where we hold the puree near his nose), wait a sec for the baby to smell and then say out-loud 'banana'. Next we move on to showing the picture of the fruit and say out-loud 'banana', Then show the word of the fruit and say out-loud 'banana'. Next show the actual fruit and say out-loud 'banana'. Finally pass the actual fruit to the baby and let him touch and feel and say out-loud 'banana

After the fruit tasting session, we moved on to Gnostic Sensation session where babies learn the different contrasting texture with a wide variety of household items. Eg ; smooth and rough, soft and hard, hold and cold.

We end the session by doing balancing exercise to introduce the concept of space to babies using a gym ball.

Whats Sinks and Float !

Sink or Float?? a little science session for the kids this week as we aim to introduce the science philosophy of ...
1. what items sinks and what items float
2. things float in salty water (dead sea)

As usual we start off with warm up session, we did 'activity dice'. unfortunately it only lasted 1 min coz the children is more interested to play with building blocks and gym ball. So we shifted it to those as warming up session

We move on with story telling after the warm up session. We did the story called 'Sir Mike' and follow by emotion expression and flower painting. we use frozen food coloring water as the paint based (we are afraid of chemicals from poster paints)

Finally... what sinks and what floats??..
the children is amaze with why the 1 egg float in a tub and the other egg in other tub sinks

We end the day session with a critical thinking activity of 'cup tower stacking'. after which we did the Glenn Doman bits of intelligence program on flowers

Let's Hike to china - Chinese Pancake Making

During this week, the children get to explore how Chinese pancake is made, learn about emotions and how to communicate them, appreciate meaningful sounds (musical) and also play 'Match the sound game'

The session start off with a simple story telling of 'Double Trouble' by Anna Milbourne to help enhance the children language development and emotion expression in the story line of the 2 twin elephants.

Appreciate meaningful sounds created by different musical instruments. At the same time children also get to play with the musical instrument themselves while learning words relating to it. It hence reading skills instead of picture reading

children experimenting how to make music using water xylophone.

Ta--da !! the pancake making session. Before we start,
we did a Glenn Doman reading through
'5 Senses pathway to the brain' which is through taste, smell, hear, see and feel

The activities aim at enhancing children life skills, refining fine motor skills,

We end the day session by introducing Countries and their capital city using Glenn Doman Bits Of Intelligence Program.

Let's Hike To China - Chinese Calligraphy

For this month, we will be having Let's Hike To China theme as we would like the children to learn and explore other cultures using the Glenn Doman program. The whole theme span across 4 weeks where each week the children will learn something different. For week 1, we explore the Chinese calligraphy.

We start off the class by introducing them to words related to the calligraphy activities and showing them the real thing that relate to the word

After that, they start to explore.
They even produce ink for the calligraphy using the traditional way (ink stone)

Learning outcome : refine fine motor skills, appreciation of art, creativity

Some of the masterpiece created by the children (with adult guidance)

Next come the "Where is my friend" activities. Like usual we will do words cards reading related to the activities.

The child is then given choices of folder to choose. Inside the folder is a stack of pictures. The children will need to match the pictures that complement each other

Learning outcome : hone critical thinking, mathematical development (complement item)

Soon it was lunch break. Even during break, children are still learning. This time round they are doing color sorting with the glutinous rice ball dessert. Children will need to sort the colour rice ball into allocated bowl according to their color.

Learning outcome : mathematical development (sorting), color recognition

Before we end the class session, we did the quantity recognition using Glenn Doman Math program.

Off the children go....with the wild play in the sand pit
